Juan Antonio López Riquelme

Juan Antonio López Riquelme works as an Associated Professor in the Electronics Technology Department at the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT), Murcia, Spain. He received his M.S. degree in automation and industrial electronics engineering, in 2006, from the UPCT. His Ph.D. degree thesis, entitled "Contribution to wireless sensor networks: study and implementation of hardware solutions for precision Agriculture," was presented in January 2013. Riquelme is the author and coauthor of 7 journal papers in the field of wireless sensor networks and undertook a 4-month Research Stay at the Centro de Investigação e de Tecnologias Agro-Ambientais e Biológicas of the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal, in 2009. He is a Member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and received an IEEE/IET Electronic Library Award from this association in 2009. His current research interests include wireless sensor and actor networks (WSAN) in the context of agriculture/precision viticulture, ambient intelligence, ambient assisted living, and internet of things.
