Anming Hu received his first Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Science in 1997 and his second Ph.D. degree from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Waterloo in 2008, after which he joined the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, University of Waterloo as a Research Assistant Professor. He has rich research experience on condensed matter physics, applied physics, specially on applied superconductivity, and ultrafast laser physics. He is leading the nano-team in the Centre of Advanced Materials Joinining, Univeristy of Waterloo. His current research interests include laser-nanomaterial interactions, nanofabrication and nanojoining, femtosecond laser nanoengineering, surface-enhanced spectroscopy, multiscale simulation, nanotechnology for water treatment, photovoltaics, plasmonics, and flexible electronics applications.
