Karol Miller

Karol Miller was born and educated in Warsaw, Poland. He received M.S. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) degrees from Warsaw University of Technology (both with distinction) and D.S. degree (2003) from Polish Academy of Science. In 1995-1996, he was a Research Fellow at AIST, Tsukuba, Japan. Then he moved to the University of Western Australia. Since 2006, he has been a Professor of applied mechanics and since 2009, he has held the title of Winthrop Professor in the School of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering at UWA. Professor Miller is best known for his work on biomechanics of the brain. His current research interests include biomechanics of soft tissues and real-time computational biomechanics for medicine.
