Pu Xia, M.D., was trained in medicine at the Fudan University Medical School and had 10 years of clinical experience as an Endocrinologist at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital. After postdoctoral work at Harvard, he became a Full-Time Biomedical Researcher with longstanding interests in cell signaling and vascular cell biology. He has been a pioneer in the research area of sphingolipids signaling and made considerable contributions to establishing and fostering the development of this new area. He is also internationally recognized for his work in the study of diabetic vascular complications and endothelial cell biology.
