Farrukh Afaq
Farrukh Afaq received his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, India. He worked as a Scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, USA. In 2010, he moved to the University of Alabama at Birmingham as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, AL, USA. His research interests are in identifying critical cellular and molecular targets in skin photocarcinogenesis, photoaging, and other inflammatory skin diseases. In addition, his research work is in developing and identifying novel agent(s) that can be exploited for the chemoprevention of skin (i.e., nonmelanoma and melanoma), lung, breast, and prostate cancers.
