Ghazanfar Ali is an Assistant Professor at the College of Science in the Center of Excellence in Biotechnology Research, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In 2005–2009, he was honored with the prestigious position of Permanent Research Scientist at the Institute of Pakistan Medical Research Council, Ministry of Health, Islamabad, Pakistan. In 2009, Dr. Ali was awarded with PAS Gold Medal 2009 by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, Islamabad for the best research activities in the field of human genetics and biomedical sciences. Dr. Ali’s research focus is to identify the genes involved in generation of hearing loss, alopecia, ectodermal dysplasias, skeletal dysplasias, primary microcephaly, duchenne muscular dystrophy, blindness, nonsyndromic autosomal recessive intellectual disabilities (NSARID) like hereditary disorders. Dr. Ali received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in human genetics and biochemistry from the Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan.
