Yves Grohens in 1984 joined the High School diploma, Reims, France. In 1986, 1988, and 1991, he received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, respectively, from Besançon University, France. In 2000, he received a Habilitation for research direction from Mulhouse University, France. From November 1991 to September 1992, he served as an Assistant Professor at Besançon University, France; September 1992 to June 1994, an Assistant Professor at Mulhouse University, France; June 1994 to December 1994, an Invited Professor at Laval University, Québéc, Canada; December 1994 to September 2001, an Assistant Professor at Mulhouse University, France; September 2001 to August 2002, a Professor at South Brittany University, France; August 2002 to August 2008, a Director of the L2PIC Laboratory (40 researchers), Lorient, France; January 2005 to January 2008, the Vice Director for Research, Lorient, France; December 2008, a Director of LIMATB Laboratory (150 researchers), Lorient, France. He has been invited as a Chairman for 20 scientific sessions, and as an organizer or chairman of 30 conferences. His research activities include (i) physicochemical studies of polymers surfaces and interfaces, (ii) phase transitions in thin films, confinement, (iii) nano- and biocomposites design and characterisation, and (iv) biodegradation of polymers and biomaterials. Roughly 50 students worked with him for M.Tech. and M.S. degrees. He has 127 research papers, 2 chapters in books, 2 monographs, 3 scientific reviews, 4 patents, 110 national/international conferences/symposiums attended, and 40 invited lectures at national/international institutions.
