Brian J. Edwards
Brian J. Edwards received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinios in 1986, and a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware in 1991. He joined the faculty of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in 2001, where he is currently a Professor and Associate Head. He published more than 80 papers in the fields of liquid crystalline dynamics, nonequilibrium thermodynamics, polymer rheology, statistical mechanics, and molecular dynamics simulation. He coauthored (with Antony Beris) the monograph entitled Thermodynamics of Flowing Systems, published by Oxford University Press in 1994. His current research interests include reactive nonequilibrium molecular dynamics and nonequilibrium Monte Carlo simulations, polymer dynamics under flow and phase changes, and transport in proton exchange membranes for hydrogen fuel cell technology.
