Thomas F. Speth

Thomas F. Speth is a professional Engineer who has conducted drinking-water treatment research at the USEPA for 24 years. He obtained his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA and both his M.S degree in civil/environmental engineering and his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Mich, USA. Dr. Speth is a Member of the AWWA, ASCE, ACS, and IHSS. He has served as Trustee for AWWA's Water Quality & Technology Division and as Associate Editor for ASCE's Journal of Environmental Engineering. He is currently serving on the Editorial Board for the American Water Works Association Journal. Speth's permanent position at EPA is Chief of the Treatment Technology Evaluation Branch, and currently he is serving as Acting Director of the Water Supply and Water Resources Division.
