Lawrence Shah

Lawrence Shah is the Laser Development Group Leader at the Laser Plasma Laboratory at the Townes Laser Institute and has been a Senior Research Scientist at CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics at the University of Central Florida for 3 year. Shah received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in optical physics from the University of Central Florida as a Member of the Laser Development Laboratory. Prior to rejoining UCF, Shah served as a Postdoctoral Research at LLNL and as a Research Scientist at IMRA America Inc., developing Yb:YAG solid-state and Yb:fiber laser systems, respectively. Since rejoining LPL, Shah has been a Group Leader for the development of Tm:fiber and Yb:YAG thin-disk laser systems. Shah has been awarded four patents for applications of Yb:fiber lasers and has authored many peer-reviewed publications on high-power solid-state and fiber laser systems and their applications.
