Sun Ying obtained an M.D. degree from the Jilin Medical College, China, in 1982 in general medicine, M.S. degree from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, China, in 1988 in molecular immunology, and Ph.D. degree from the University of London, UK, in 1994 in asthma, allergy, and immunology. He has been serving as a Reader in the King’s College London, UK, since 2008. He acted as a Senior Lecturer at the same university from 2003 to 2007 and Principal Investigator and Director of Immunology at TaiGen Biotech, Taiwan. His research area includes making fundamental inroads into investigation of the role of Th-2 cells, Th-2 cytokines, Th-2 attracting chemokines, PGE2, and other mediators in asthma and other allergic inflammation, with tangible clinical consequences and into the cellular and molecular pathology of severe phenotypes of asthma, including intrinsic asthma, glucocorticoid resistant, and aspirin sensitive disease. His contribution to these fields is recognized by his peers worldwide.
