Piotr Kurcok received his M.S. degree in polymer technology from the Department of Chemistry of Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice in 1980, and since this year he has been involved in research work in Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze where he is employed until today as an Associate Professor. He received his Ph.D. degree in technical sciences in 1989 and the D.S. degree in chemistry and polymer chemistry in 1998, both form the Faculty of Chemistry, Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. He received postdoctoral fellowship at University of Liege, Liege, Belgium in 1995. Since 2004, he has been a Professor at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. He is specialized in polymer chemistry, polymers from renewable sources, bacterial and synthetic polyesters, block and graft copolymers, biomaterials, polymer-drug conjugates, and anionic ROP.
