Università di Palermo, Italy

Vincenzo Augugliaro was born in 1949. He received the Doctor degree in chemical engineering from the University of Palermo (Italy) in 1975 with the notation of 110/110 cum laude. From 1976 to 1978, he attended the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Chimica dei Processi e dei Materiali of the University of Palermo with a fellowship from CNR (Rome). From 1978 to 1994, he has been an Associate Professor; since 1994 he is a Full Professor of transport phenomena at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Palermo. In the course of his scientific activity, Professor Augugliaro has contributed to the following fields: chemical absorption kinetics, biochemical reactor modeling, diffusional kinetics in metalliding alloys, chemical kinetics of heterogeneous photocatalytic systems, modeling of heterogeneous photoreactors, radiation field modeling in absorbing-reacting media, advanced oxidation processes for environment remediation, and selective photocatalytic reactions. He is coauthor of some 130 papers published in ISI international journals.
