Adriana Conforto is currently the Chief of the Neurostimulation Laboratory at the Neurology Clinical Division, Hospital das Clinicas, Sao Paulo University in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is also a Mentor of the postgraduate program and a neurologist of the stroke group in the same institution as well as a Researcher at the Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa Albert Einstein in Sao Paulo. Dr. Conforto graduated from Campinas State University, SP, Brazil, in 1994, and finished her neurology residency at Hospital das Clinicas, Sao Paulo University in 1998. She was an instructor of emergency neurology at Hospital das Clinicas, Sao Paulo University from 1999 to 2000 and a Fellow at the Human Cortical Physiology Section, NINDS, NIH in Bethesda, Md, USA, from 2000 to 2001. She was appointed as a neurologist at the stroke group at Hospital das Clinicas, Sao Paulo University in 2001. From 2002 to 2003, she was an IBRO Fellow at the Neurology Department, Inselspital, University of Bern in Bern, Switzerland. She received a Ph.D. degree in 2005 and a Full Professor degree in 2010. Her main research interests are in cerebrovascular diseases, neurorehabilitation, neuromodulation, and neuroplasticity.
