Chaofeng Lü received his B.S. degree in civil engineering in 2001 and his Ph.D. degree in structural engineering in 2006 from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2007 to 2009 at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China. Since 2006, he has been working at the Department of Civil Engineering, Zhejiang University, where he was promoted to be an Associate Professor in 2008. From December 2009 to March 2012, he has worked as a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA. His research interests include mechanics of nanostructures, smart/composite materials and structures, and mechanics in the manufacturer of microstructures. He has coauthored over 60 peer-reviewed international journal papers, including PNAS (2 cover featured articles), Acs Nano, Soft Mat.., Compos. Sci. Tech., IJNME, IJSS, IEEE Nanotech., and IEEE/ASME JMEMS and 20 international conference papers with more than 400 independent citations. He is now the Associate Editor of Nano Communications and on the editorial board of Journal of Computational Engineering.
