Christian W. Lehmann

Christian W. Lehmann was born in 1964, Berlin, Germany. Between 1984 and 1988, he studied chemistry at the FU-Berlin. In 1990, he obtained the Ph.D. degree in crystallography under the direction of P. Luger (FU-Berlin). A postdoctoral year at Queen Mary College, London, and the University of Cardiff was followed by an appointment in 1993 as a Senior Research Officer at Durham University, UK. Since 1998, he works as a Group Leader for Chemical Crystallography Group and Electron Microscopy Group (the latter since 2008) at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr. In 1997, he served as a Visiting Professor at the University of La Plata in Argentina, and in 2009, he was appointed as an Honorary Professor at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. He serves currently as a Chairman of the special interest group named Chemical Crystallography of the German Chemical Society (GDCh). In addition, he serves as the Speaker for the Small Molecule Working Group of the German Crystallographic Association (DGK). He is a Member of the German Chemical Society and presently works as the Chairman of the regional GDCh section. He is also Fellow of the Royal Chemical Society and a Member of the German, British, and American Crystallographic Association.
