Thilo Gambichler is a Consultant Dermatologist and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany). Dr. Gambichler received his M.D. degree from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany). He has published more than 180 PubMed-listed articles and more than 10 book chapters. His major areas of research include photobiology, in vivo skin imaging, chronic inflammatory skin conditions, and antimicrobial peptides. Throughout his career, Dr. Gambichler has been involved in various research projects and conducted many investigator-initiated studies as a Principal Investigator. He holds several memberships including the German Society of Dermatology, British Association of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, British Photodermatology Group, German Society for Photobiology: Section Photodermatology, and the International Society for Biophysics and Imaging of the Skin. Moreover, he has served for a long time as Peer Reviewer for numerous journals including the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, Preventive Medicine, European Journal of Cancer, Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, Preventive Medicine, Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology, Melanoma Research, and Journal of Biomedical Optics.
