Balazs Antus

Balazs Antus was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1972. He obtained the Medical degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Semmelweis University, Budapest, in 1997 and 2001, respectively. During his training, he spent two years in University Hospital Essen, Germany, with a DAAD scholarship. In 2001, he moved to the National Koranyi Institute, Budapest. After completing his residency in pulmonology in 2004, he joined the Department of Pathophysiology at the Institute as a Research Fellow. Since 2007, he has been the Head of the Department of Pathophysiology at the Institute. As a Pulmonologist and Researcher, his research interests include clinical and experimental transplantation, inflammatory airway diseases, and exhaled biomarkers. He is author/coauthor of around 50 scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. In 2007, he received the Bolyai Janos Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and in 2010 the Kovats Ferenc Award from the Hungarian Respiratory Society.
