Karel Kudela is a Senior Leading Scientist at the Department of Space Physics (DSP) of the Institute of Experimental Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Kosice, Slovakia. From 1980 until 2011, he worked as the Head of the Department of Space Physics. Kudela graduated from Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of Czech Technical University, Prague, 1969. He received Cand.Sci. degree in nuclear physics from Pavol Jozef Safarik University, Kosice, in 1977, and a D.Sc. degree in 1991. Since 2005, Kudela has been a professor. He works in the research of dynamics of energetic particles in space and in variability of low energy cosmic rays. He is/was principal investigator, co-principal investigator, and coinvestigator or member of team in several energetic particle measurements on satellites, and also a principal investigator of cosmic ray measurements at Lomnicky stit.
