Wensheng Zhou is experienced in content-based multimedia retrieval and intelligent information hiding, research fields that are gaining in popularity and importance. Just consider the new field of digital image authentication and forensics, techniques motivated by such an incipient area of research may find application in checks of integrity of medical images or records, or even might just help to reveal a historical tampering of certain genes/molecules by some agent or process. Her expertise impinges also upon biometric security, image analysis, and other topics of the FBIT 2007. She is a member of the Multimedia Information Access Group at the Information Sciences Lab of HRL Laboratories, LLC in Malibu, where she has worked on DARPA funded Semantic Multicast Project. She has also led HRL internal funded projects in the areas of multimedia (video, audio, and text) processing, multimedia database, and multimedia communications over heterogeneous networks, multimedia security and copyright management systems, pattern recognition, database and data mining, and network security. Her research interests include digital signal processing, multimedia databases and networks, and knowledge-based image/video retrieval.
