Shogo Shimazu

Shogo Shimazu was born in 1955, Hiroshima, Japan. Shimazu received a B.E. degree from Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1978, an M.S. degree from Osaka University, Japan, in 1980, and a Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University, USA, in 1983. In 1985, he started his academic carrier at Chiba University, Japan, as an Assistant Professor. Since 2005, he has been serving as a Professor of Department of Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering. His research interests include preparation of nanostructured hybrid materials of clay and organometallic compounds, catalytic application of green catalytic process, asymmetric reaction, and production of useful chemicals from biomass.
