Edward C. Keedwell

The University of Exeter, United Kingdom

Edward C. Keedwell received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Exeter in 2003 and has held the post of a Lecturer in computer science at the same university since 2009. He has published one book, Intelligent Bioinformatics now on its second print, and almost 50 journal and conference publications in the field of artificial intelligence with application to difficult problems in bioinformatics and engineering. Keedwell's areas of research interest are focussed on nature-inspired computation techniques (e.g., evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, and swarm intelligence) and their application to data mining and optimisation in bioinformatics (e.g., gene expression and genomic data) and engineering (i.e., water distribution networks, drainage systems, and water quality issues). Dr. Keedwell is a Member of the IEEE, ACM and is a Committee Member of AISB, the world's first AI society.
