Gül Baltaci is a holder of the P.T. and Ph.D. degrees and FACSM. She is a Professor at the Sports Physiotherapy Unit, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Sciences, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. She graduated from the School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Hacettepe University in 1986, completed M.S. degree at Exercise Physiology Department in Middle East Technical University in 1990, and Ph.D. degree at Physiology Department in Gazi University Medical Faculty in 1994. Dr. Baltaci worked at Ibn-i Sina Hospital Ankara University as a Physical Therapist between 1986 and 1988, School of Physical Education and Sports in Middle East Technical University as a Research Assistant between 1988 and 1990, Institute für Sportsmedizine in Salzburg, Austria as an Exercise Physiologist in 1990-1991, and, after returning to Turkey at the School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Hacettepe University between 1991 and 1994 as a Research Assistant. She had an academic degree at Hacettepe University as an Assistant Professor in 1995 and associate professor in 1997. After that, Baltaci worked at Baylor Sports Medicine Institute, Houston, Tex, as a Fellow in 1998. She won International Scholar Award belonging to American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and went to Baylor Sports Medicine Institute Houston, Tex, as a Researcher for 2 months in 1999. Dr. Baltaci has several research papers published in various international publications and paper presentations at the International Congresses in the area of sports medicine and physical activities. She is now working as a Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Hacettepe University which is one of the finest departments in Turkey.
