Jonathan Jeschke was born in Munich, Germany. He is addressing broad and fundamental questions across taxonomic boundaries. His major research methods include collecting and analyzing large datasets, synthesizing knowledge, and modeling. His special expertise is in invasion ecology and predator-prey interactions. Jeschke received his Doctorate degree in 2002 from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Millbrook, NY, USA, and the Laboratory of Ecological and Evolutionary Dynamics at University of Helsinki, Finland. Since 2011, he has worked at the Department of Ecology and Ecosystem Management, Technische Universität München (TUM). He is also a Visiting Scientist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies.
