Zhi-Zhong Sun received his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from The Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (the former Computing Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences) in 1990. He has been on the Faculty of the Department of Mathematics at Southeast University since 1990 and the Director of the Branch of Computational Mathematics since 1997. His research interests are in the areas of numerical algorithms for solving partial differential equations and scientific computing. He has published one monograph, three textbooks, three teaching reference books, and over fifty papers in refereed journals. He has received five grants from the National Natural Science of Foundation of China to support his research.
