Paola Costelli

Paola Costelli received a degree in biological sciences in 1987, and then in 1993, she has been EEC Fellow. In 1993, Costelli received Ph.D. degree in experimental and molecular pathology, the Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Experimental Medicine and Oncology, University of Torino, Turin, Italy, in 1994, and Cooperation Group in Cancer Research Fellow in 1997. In 1997, she became a Professor at the Faculty of Science, University of Torino, holding a short course about the role of cytokines in pathology: molecular, cellular, and physiopathological aspects, after that she became Laboratory Assistant at the Department of Experimental Medicine and Oncology, University of Torino, she became Researcher at the Faculty of Science of the University of Torino (1999–2006), and in 2006 she became Associate Professor at the University of Torino, Faculty of Science. Costelli is coauthor of approximately 170 papers, lectures, and communications. Her research areas include cancer cachexia, muscle wasting, protein turnover, and apoptosis.
