Vishweshwar Peddy obtained his Ph.D. degree in crystal engineering in 2004, working with Professor Ashwini Nangia at the University of Hyderabad, India. Following this, he spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Mike Zaworokto at the University of South Florida, USA (2004–2006), where he has worked on pharmaceutical cocrystals and polymorphism of APIs. He has started his independent career as Senior Scientist at Discovery Research of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. and later worked for Aurigene Discovery Technologies Ltd., where he has worked on development of solid forms of NCEs. In September 2010, he has moved to Centre for Excellence in Polymorphism and Particle Engineering, Integrated Product Development of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. As a Principal Scientist, he is looking after polymorphism and crystallization aspects of APIs for DMF filing. He has successfully completed numerous industrial projects on discovering novel and noninfringing crystalline forms of APIs for Para-IV filing. His expertise also includes characterization of solid forms, scale-up feasibility, crystallization, pharmaceutical cocrystals, evaluation of noninfringement against claims, single crystal X-ray crystallography, and so forth. Peddy published 38 research article, review, and book chapter. Peddy has 1300 citations, 20 provisional/PCT patent applications, and 20 H-index. Peddy is a Reviewer Crystal Growth and Design, CrystEngComm, Chemical Communications, New Journal of Chemistry, and so forth. Peddy is a recipient of Best Innovation Team Award Utsav-2013, recipient of Best Innovation Team Award Utsav-2012, recipient of Best Idea Generation Team Award Utsav-2011, IPDO, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., and recipient of Chaiman's Excellence Award as Best Innovation Team for the year 2009-2010 by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.
