Xianfeng Chen

Xianfeng Chen was born in YangZhou, China, in 1968. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees (in optics) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China, in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Since 1993, he works at the Department of Physics of SJTU. In 1998, he served as an Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From 2003 to 2004, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at Harvard University. In 2004, he was appointed as a Professor in SJTU. He is mainly interested in nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, and photonics devices. In 2011, he was the recipient of the C. N. Yang Award by The Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS). He has published more than 100 SCI journal papers. The number of SCI citation is over 600. He serves as an International Editorial Board Member of Journal of Nonlinear Optical Physics and Material. Currently, He serves as a Vice Director of fundamental optics committee of COS in China. He was invited to present more than 20 plenary and invited talks in the international conference in the past 5 years. His research was highlighted and reported in some famous journals or press, for example, recently, in New Scientist. His main research interests are nonlinear optics, nanophotonics, and ultrafast optics.
