Kenoki Ohuchida graduated from Kyushu University School of Medicine, Kyushu, Japan in 1997 and finished a residency in general surgery I, Kyushu University Hospital. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2005 from the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University, in the area of oncology for pancreatic cancer. He has been working in the field of minimally invasive surgery, including endoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and laparoscopic gastrectomy. He became Assistant Professor in the Department of Advanced Medical Initiatives, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University in 2007, and then went on to become Associate Professor in 2011. He received the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, The Young Scientists’ Prize, 2007. He also won the Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists, Inoue Foundation for Science, 2006.
