Natalia Osna is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Omaha, NE, USA. Dr. Osna graduated from the University of Latvia in 1978 with an M.D. degree and got her Ph.D. degree in 1984. After the fellowships in London and Copenhagen, she had her postdoctoral training at Creighton University and then UNMC, Omaha, NE. She was appointed to her current position in 2006. Dr. Osna is well published and has publications in such respectable journals like the Hepatology and Gastroenterology. Her research interests include various pathogenic aspects of alcoholic liver disease and hepatitis C, namely, interferon signaling, proteasome function, and antigen presentation. She extensively works as an editor, serving as a Guest Editor for Special Issue Alcohol and Liver Disease for Seminars in Liver Disease and Series Editor of very popular alcohol research annual Topic Highlight: Alcohol and Liver in World Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Osna’s research is funded by NIH (NIAAA).
