Jun-Seok Oh is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, Western Michigan University (WMU). He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Hanyang University, Republic of Korea, in 1984 and 1991, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Irvine in 2001. His unique strength is an extensive knowledge of both traffic engineering and travel demand analysis through his experiences as a researcher or a professional engineer. Dr. Oh has been studying various transportation problems including transportation network optimization, travel demand analysis, traffic safety, and intelligent transportation systems. While his primary research tool has been traffic simulation models, the underlying background of research has been applying operation research techniques to advanced transportation applications. He has applied network optimization theories to intelligent transportation systems, developed transportation simulation models for advanced travel demand analysis, and analyzed statistical models for traffic safety. He has authored numerous research articles in international journals and conference proceedings.
