Ram M. Pendyala

Ram M. Pendyala is a Professor of transportation systems at the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Arizona State University (ASU). Prior to joining ASU in Fall 2006, he served at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa for 12 years. Dr. Pendyala is an internationally Renowned Expert in multimodal transportation systems planning, travel demand forecasting, microsimulation of urban transport systems, activity and travel behavior analysis, travel demand management, public transportation planning and design, and sustainable land use-transport systems. He has conducted more than $4 millions in sponsored research for numerous funding agencies and has published extensively in the field. His publications have appeared in the Journal of the Transportation Research Board, Transportation, Environment, and Planning B and Transportation Research B. Dr. Pendyala has served as the Chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Traveler Behavior and Values since 2003 and as the Secretary/Treasurer of the International Association for Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR) since 2004. He is currently the Vice Chair and Chair-Elect of IATBR. Dr. Pendyala received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of California at Davis, Calif, USA, and his B.S. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India.
