Gabriela F. Meresman


Gabriela F. Meresman was born in Argentina in 1967. She graduated in biology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and has obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Buenos Aires University, Argentina, in 1999. From 1993 to 1999, Dr. Meresman was a Research Doctoral Fellow at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), and from 1999 to 2001 she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the CONICET. In 2002, she was awarded a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from the Latin-American Program for Instruction and Research in Human Reproduction (PLACIRH), and from 2003 until now she is an Established Researcher of the CONICET. She works at the Immunology of Reproduction Laboratory in the Institute of Experimental Biology and Medicine (IBYME) in Buenos Aires. Dr. Meresman is a member of different scientific societies and was recipient of several prestigious national and international scientific awards like the “Dr. Alberto G. Peralta Ramos” First Award from the Argentine Society of Sterility and Fertility, in 2000, the First Award from the National Academy of Medicine in Argentina, in 2002, and the 2nd Roger Abdelmassih Award, in 2003. Dr. Meresman is the author of numerous papers and abstracts and has given many invited lectures on endometriosis research. Her current research interest is the molecular mechanisms underlying endometrial pathologies with a major interest in endometriosis basic and clinical research.
