Howard D. Homesley
Howard D. Homesley was a Phi Beta Kappa as an undergraduate at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, USA, where he completed his undergraduate and medical school education. He then finished a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Vanderbilt University followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After two years in the U.S. Air Force, he was on the faculty at Wake Forest University Medical Center becoming a Professor and the Head of the Gynecologic Oncology Section. Subsequently, after 8 years in private practice, he has been a Clinical Professor and a Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Beginning at Wake Forest University, he has been a Principal Investigator of the Gynecologic Oncology Group and has served on a number of GOG Committees. His major interest has been study chair in protocols related to vulvar and endometrial cancer. He is the author or coauthor on over 80 GOG publications. Dr. Homesley has also been the institutional principal investigator on nearly 100 industry clinical trials.
