Nobuhiro Ohkohchi serves as Professor at the Department of Surgery and Organ Transplantation, Advanced Biomedical Applications, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Science, Osaka, Japan. He is also Vice-President of University Hospital, University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Japan. He graduated from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1978. Ohkohchi received his Ph.D. degree in 1985 from Tohoku University. He held many occupations. He was an Associate Professor at Tohoku University in 1988. In 2002, he worked as Professor at Department of Surgery and Organ Transplantation, University of Tsukuba. Furthermore, in 2005, he served as Honorable Professor at the Department of General Surgery, Harbin Medical University, Harbin, China. He holds membership of many reputable associations such as Japan Surgical Society, Japanese Transplantation Society, Japan Society for Organ Preservation and Medical Biology, and European Association for the Study of the Liver. His fields of interest include surgery of digestive tract, especially hepatic resection and transplantation, hepatic reperfusion injury, hepatic regeneration, surgical stress and metabolism, and cancer RNA.
