Julia Humphries obtained her B.S. degree in biological sciences in 1991. She was subsequently awarded an M.S. degree in biotechnology from Bristol in 1992 and was appointed as a Research Assistant by the Kennedy Institute, University of Oxford, Oxford, England, in the same year. She received her Ph.D. degree in cardiovascular medicine in 2003 from the University of London, before taking up any postdoctoral positions in the United Medical and Dental Schools. She subsequently served as a Research Fellow at the Cardiovascular Division of King’s College London where she led a group investigating the role of hypoxia in thrombus resolution. She has an extensive bibliography of over 30 peer-reviewed papers, has authored several book chapters, and now acts as a reviewer for the Annals of Vascular Surgery.
