Esther Leshinsky-Silver obtained a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Avram Hershko, Nobel Prize winner in biochemistry, with a thesis entitled ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitin-protein conjugates.” Her Postdoc was in Neurology Department , NYU, New York, NY, USA, under Professor Kolodney. There She became a Research Assistant Professor and a Molecular Genetic Lab Director, mainly focusing on lysosomal storage disease. Leshinsky-Silver currently works as the Director of the Molecular Genetics Unit at the Wolfson Medical Center, Holon, Israel, mainly focusing on neurogenetic metabolic diseases. She is a Member of the Neurogenetic Metabolic Clinic, seeing patients from all over the country and trying to find the molecular cause of these disease and give a genetic counseling to the families.
