Irene B. Jensen

Irene B. Jensen holds a B.S. degree in psychology from Örebro University, Örebro, Sweden, in 1985, and a Ph.D. degree in medical science, personal injury prevention, with a thesis entitled “Non-specific spinal pain. Multidisciplinary intervention, a cognitive-behavioural approach,” 1993. Dr. Jensen worked as an Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet in 1999. She currently serves as the Head of the Division of Intervention and Implementation Research, Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet, as well as a Professor in occupational health and in personal injury prevention. She has mainly pursued research in the area of back pain and work and health concerning cost effective interventions and implementation of evidence-based measures. She is currently developing a new research program with the focus of intervention and implementation research within occupational health services. Dr. Jensen is a Member of a scientific council and expert advisory board for the Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy; Member of a scientific council and expert advisory board for the Ministry of Social Affairs, Swedish government concerning rehabilitation and sick leave; Member of a scientific council and expert advisory board for the Ministry of Employment, Swedish government concerning work environment.
