Jiin-Yuh Jang

Jiin-Yuh Jang received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, in 1977, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the same field from the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA, in 1981 and 1983, respectively. Since 2005, he has been a Chairman at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NCKU. Since 2002, he has been a University Distinguished Professor, NCKU. From 1988 up till now, he has served as a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NCKU. In 2003–2005, he was an Associate Dean at the Office of Research and Development, NCKU; in 2001–2003, he was a Director at the University Planning Division, Office of Research and Development, NCKU; in 1984–1988, he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NCKU; in 1983–1984, he was an Associate Professor at Power Mechanical Engineering Department, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan; and in 1977–1979, he was a Design Engineer at San Yang Motor Co. He received several awards and honors. He obtained the Distinguished Research Award from the National Science Council, Taiwan, and the Best Teaching and Research Award from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. He has been at the Advisory Committee, Engineering Division, National Science Council, Taiwan. He was also an Editor at the Journal of Chinese Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning as well as the Journal of Chinese Engineering. He has been a Fellow at the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineering (AHRAE) since 2007, and a member since 1995. He is also a member at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) since 1986, and Chinese Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineering (CSHRAE). He is also a Life Member at the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME). He is specialized in heat exchanger design, refrigeration and air-conditioning, and computational fluid dynamics.
