Sandrine Bec

Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France

Sandrine Bec received an engineer degree from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (generalist French High School), France, in 1989, her M.S. degree in materials science in 1989, and her Ph.D. degree in mechanics from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (Laboratory of Tribology and System Dynamics), France, entitled “Transformation by pyrolysis of polymer precursor coatings into ceramic coatings” in 1992. The thesis is award from the Association Universitaire de Mécanique (Academic Society of Mechanics) in September 1993. Moreover, she is an associate scientist at the Laboratory of Tribology and System Dynamics (LTDS, UMR CNRS 5513) at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France). Her research interests include tribology, near surface mechanical properties measurements, nanoindentation, and mechanical characterization of thin coatings and tribofilms.
