Günther Grün works at the Department of Mathematics, Friedrich Alexander Universität, Germany. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in mathematics (University of Bonn, 1994) and in habilitation (ibidem, 2001). Since 2006, he has been working as a Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. His areas of expertise include degenerate parabolic equations/systems of higher order, analysis of interface motion in free boundary problems, analysis and numerics of phase-field models, finite element - finite volume schemes for free boundary problems, and mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of wetting phenomena.
