Christian Peham

User Biography : Prof Christian Peham Univ. Prof. Dipl. Ing. Dr. Christian Peham graduated as a communication engineer at the University of Technology Vienna and worked on the Clinic of Orthopaedics in Ungulates at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. He finished his doctoral thesis in 1994. Since 2001 he is Professor of Biomechanics at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. He is the head of the Movement Science Group Vienna. Prof. Peham’s research focus is in the areas of equine and canine biomechanics. Recently, his research has focussed on development of anatomy-based models of the equine back and neck. He was co-author of 2 books and over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts. Prof. Peham was one of the organizers of the IWAL 2000, EWOMS 2005 and the ICEL7. He has been bestowed by the Bank Austria Science Award.
