Roberto Montemanni received a Laurea Degree in computer science from Università di Bologna, Italy (1999) and a Ph.D. Degree in applied mathematics from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom (2002). He is a Senior Researcher at Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull’Intelligenza Artificiale (IDSIA), Lugano, Switzerland. He is also a Professor at the Department of Innovative Technology (DTI), Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana (SUPSI), Lugano, Switzerland and a Lecturer at the Faculty of Informatics, Universit&#xE0 della Svizzera Italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland. His main research interests include the development of exact and metaheuristic algorithms for combinatorial optimisation problems arising in transportation and telecommunication.
