Pierre Castelnau was born in Paris, France, in 1966. He received an M.D. degree in 1994 and has been specialized in pediatrics since 1995, and a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience from the University of Paris VI in 1998. He is currently working as a Professor of pediatrics at the University of Tours, France. He serves as the Head of the Pediatric Neurology Unit and is an affiliated researcher in the INSERM U930 unit “Brain and Imaging” in Tours, France. His background experience covers the pediatric neurology and his clinical and fundamental research topics concern, in particular, basal ganglia, neuroprotection, energy stress, neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), tuberous sclerosis (TS), and hyperactivity (ADHD).
