Dr Dalton (www.daltonlab.uga.edu) is a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Molecular Cell Biology and a Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scientist. Since 2008, Dr. Dalton has been Chair of the Southeast Stem Cell Consortium (www.sestemcells.uga.edu), is a regular member of the NIH 'Development-2' Study Section and serves on numerous advisory boards. Prior to joining the University of Georgia, Dr Dalton gained post doctoral experience at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London and the Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Dalton holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Dalton was an Assistant Professor at the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology, New Jersey and Scientific Director of the BresaGen Cell Therapy Program. Dr. Dalton's research interests are focused on the basic biology of human pluripotent cells and in their development of therapeutics for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neurological diseases.
