Roberto Morandotti

Roberto Morandotti received an M.S. degree in physics from the University of Genova in 1993, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1999. He then moved to the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, 1999–2001, and later to the University of Toronto, Canada, 2002-2003. Since July 2003, he is a Professor at the INRS-EMT, University of Quebec, in Varennes, Montreal. His research interests deal mainly with the linear and nonlinear properties of periodic semiconductor and glass structures, as well as with the characterization of novel enabling materials for optoelectronics applications. Professor Morandotti is author and coauthor of more than 150 papers in international scientific journals and conferences, including over 40 invited and postdeadline contributions, and he is currently serving as a technical committee member and chair for several OSA, IEEE, and SPIE meetings. He is a Member of the Optical Society of America and of the IEEE.
