Young-Wook Kim received the B.S. degree at Yonsei University and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees (1990) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Since 1990, he has worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) until he joined the faculty as a Professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Seoul, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1996. From 1993 to 1994, he was a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute in Inorganic Materials, Japan, and from 2009 to 2010, he was a Visiting Scholar at University of Toronto, Canada. His interests include processing-microstructure-property relationship in bulk and porous ceramics. He published more than 150 referred journal papers and invented more than 20 patents.
