Kazumi Suzukawa

Kazumi Suzukawa was born in Yamaguchi, Japan, in 1965. He received the Medical Doctor degree and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 1990 and 1996, respectively. Since 1996, he has been a Senior or Chief Resident of the Department of Hematology in Tsukuba University Hospital. From 1998 to 2001, Suzukawa was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the NCI-FCRDC, Md, USA. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Hematology and Clinical Laboratory in Tsukuba University Hospital, Japan. He is mainly interested in molecular biology of hematological malignancies: leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, chromosomal translocation, and minimal residual disease. In 1994, he was a recipient of the Young Investigator Award of the Japanese Society of Hematology (JSH). Suzukawa has been a Member in JSH, American Society of Hematology, and Japanese Cancer Association.
