Takashiro Akitsu received his B.S. degree in 1995 and Ph.D. degree in 2000 from Osaka University, Osaka, Japan. After serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Protein Research in Osaka University, he became a Research Associate at Keio University in 2002. He also studied at Stanford University before he became a Junior Associate Professor at Tokyo University of Science in 2008 and was promoted as an Associate Professor at the same university in 2012. His Areas of expertise are inorganic chemistry, metal complexes (including bioinorganic chemistry, solid states, and crystallography), and their hybrid materials.
