Ji Shi

Ji Shi currently works as a professor at the Department of Metallurgy and Ceramics Science of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan. In 1984, he received his B.Eng. degree from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian China, while in 1987, he received his M.Eng. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin China, and finally in 1997 he obtained his D. Eng. Degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, all three degrees were in the field of physical metallurgy. He worked as an Instructor and a Lecturer in Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China, from 1987 to 1993, and then he joined the Faculty of The University of Electro-Communications, a national university of Japan in Tokyo, as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Physics and Chemistry from 1997 to 2002. From April 2002 to December 2003, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Tokyo Institute of Technology, then from January 2004 to March 2012 as an Associate Professor at the Department of Metallurgy and Ceramics Science. His areas of research interest are nanostructured materials, thin film technology, magnetic thin films, and structural characterization of thin films.
